Meet Dr. Dhillon Naturopathic Physician

My Philosophy

As a physician dedicated to the principles of naturopathic medicine, I strongly believe that medicine as a whole should concern itself with more than just a patient’s illness. I prefer a holistic approach that investigates why your health is deteriorating by looking for, identifying and treating the underlying causes of the illness, and not just the presenting symptoms. Therefore, I strive to create an individualized treatment plan that utilizes your body’s self healing power and improves your health because every person is unique. My aim is to enable you to actively participate in your health decisions and empower you to take control of your own health.

I feel thankful to my parents for instilling the values of compassion, respect and dedication.  After completing my high school education at North Delta Senior Secondary. I decided to explore our neighbours to the south where I received my undergraduate degree at Western Washington University. Growing up, I wanted to be in health care and have always been dedicated to helping others. During my time in University, my desire to be a health care provider grew and my interest piqued in naturopathic medicine. I was attracted to the holistic approach, the lack of negative side effects, and the long term health benefits through lifestyle change. I furthered my education by pursuing a degree in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle and began this journey of helping others improve their health.

This profession is the perfect match for me and I definitely feel I am in the right profession. I enjoy this work and continue to gain satisfaction when I see patients get better. This is what truly motivates me.

Clinical Interest

As a naturopathic doctor, I treat a variety of health issues and give each patient my undivided attention. However, my areas of interest include treating fatigue, gastrointestinal conditions, allergies, skin conditions, auto-immune conditions, detoxification and pain management. Current treatments we use are herbal medicine, vitamins and minerals, ayurvedic medicine, homeopathy, diet and lifestyle counseling, musculoskeletal medicine such as Bowen Therapy, Neural and Prolo Therapy.

Personal interests

I am an avid hockey fan (I am Canadian after all) and for several years I trained in Martial Arts at a reputed academy in White Rock, British Columbia. I enjoy good food (especially if it’s healthy) and like to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoyed volunteered in the community at the surrey hospice, children’s activities, and the elderly. I experienced Rotary’s Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) program, and learned a great deal about leadership, motivation, and communication.

My message to you

You can improve your health and quality of life with naturopathic medicine. But no one person or medicine, whether herbal, pharmaceutical, homeopathic, or nutritional can do it all for you. Educating yourself is the first step to better health. Learn as much as you can about your health concerns and provide your body, mind and spirit with the tools necessary to heal. Give the body a chance to heal and it can–with the right guidance.

I agree that conventional medicine has effective treatments for serious acute diseases. However, the majority of health care issues are actually slow, insidious and manifest in the form of chronic diseases.  I encourage you not to blindly follow the misconception that drugs and surgery are the only choice for you. Methods of disease treatment by conventional medicine may be ineffective with high risk and unwanted side effects. Consider the naturopathic approach, it is scientifically researched and tested. I invite you to continue browsing and make an active choice to take control of your health.
